David E. Schlesinger was recently named a 2025 “Attorney of the Year” by the Minnesota Lawyer. He received this honor along with the rest of the legal team representing JoyCee Cooper in Cooper v. USA Powerlifting. In 2025, they helped their client win a landmark victory at the Minnesota Supreme Court wherein the Court unanimously held that the Minnesota Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination against transgender people in sports.
